Therapist for Children & Teens

I’ve always been drawn to children who were finding life a little harder than everyone else noticed. Even when I was teaching, I could sense when a young person was overwhelmed, when something was “off,” or when they were trying to hold everything together without the words to explain it.
In a busy classroom of 25 pupils, I could feel the ones who were struggling quietly.

I could see the pressure building in their bodies.
And I knew they needed more space, more calm, and more support than the school day allowed.
It was frustrating, because I cared deeply — but I was only one person, moving too fast in a system that didn’t slow down.
I realised I wasn’t meant to stay in the classroom.
My real work was helping young people in a way that matched who I am.
My Philosophy
When I look back at my own younger years, I remember what it felt like to move through life too quickly.
The pressure.
The pace.
Feeling misunderstood.
Thinking something was “wrong” with me because I felt things so deeply.
Wanting to fit in but never wanting to lose myself.
I didn’t need someone to fix me — I needed someone to slow things down, give me space, and help me feel safe enough to understand myself.
That’s what I aim to offer every young person I work with now.
A space where they don’t have to pretend.
A space where they can breathe.
A space where they can explore feelings at their own pace, with no judgement and no expectation to be anything other than who they are.
My Approach
I make the therapy fit the young person not the other way around.
Every child comes with their own story, their own pace, their own way of coping.
I use a blend of tools like NLP, EFT, EMDR, Brainspotting, psychotherapy techniques, coaching, and gentle guided relaxation. Parents don’t need to know the names everything I use is safe, gentle, and shaped around what your young person needs in that moment.

Some sessions focus on calming the nervous system.
Some focus on understanding triggers.
Some focus on confidence, resilience, and emotional awareness.
Every session is warm, steady, and child-led.

The Change I Love Seeing

With the right support, young people begin to trust themselves again.
They become calmer.
More resilient.
More aware of their feelings.
Better able to cope at school.
Less ashamed of their emotions.
More confident in who they’re becoming.
And parents start to feel something shift too —
relief, hope, and the sense that things are finally moving in the right direction.
